In 1994 Behavioral Health Providers, P. C. was established in Cary, IL. for the purpose of helping those who find themselves having difficulties navigating life's more challenging transitions. We expanded to Geneva in 2000 and Sycamore in 2015 allowing us to reach out to even more people.
We have assembled a wonderful group of seasoned clinicians. Each of our clinicians have ten to twenty years of experience or more. This has allowed us to develop unique expertise and perspectives with a variety challenges in the psychological, social, and emotional health of individuals, partnerships, and families. Therefore, we can provide our clients with an experienced guide and collaborator to help them find a smoother path in life.
Dr. McTague is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over thirty years of experience with children, teens, adults and senior citizens. He has worked in medical, physical rehabilitation, substance abuse rehabilitation and psychiatric facilities in rural, suburban and inner city settings. Dr. McTague has acquired three specialty areas along with his doctorate in clinical psychology that have grown out of his practical experience and interests in helping families and individuals overcome life’s roadblocks, disappointments, tragedies and traumas over the past twenty-five years.
Dr. McTague is also the Illinois President of WellQor, a full-service psychology network specializing in senior living.
Dr. Becky McTague is a qualified educator who has over thirty years of experience ranging from elementary schools to the university. She holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Southern Illinois University, a master's degree in reading from Northeastern Illinois University, and an Ed.D. from National-Louis University. She is certified from the state of Illinois as an elementary teacher (k-8) and a reading specialist (k-12). In addition, she has taught at public and private schools in a variety of settings.
Steve Guziec is a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to walking alongside his clients in their unique quest for growth. Steve has experience working with children, teens and adults in individual, group, family, and couples' counseling. He has helped people with a wide spectrum of issues including eating disorders, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, substance and alcohol abuse, grief and loss, sexual disorders, conduct disorders, trauma-related disorders, and gender identification and other LGBT concerns. Steve also has unique experience in helping people who have been victimized by cults and other dangerous groups, including destructive religious groups. Steve has a Master's in Clinical Psychology from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL, and he interned at Fox Valley Institute in Naperville, IL. Steve utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques, customized to each client's needs.
